Scoffers, Sleepers, Errors, & Watchers

 

The Kingdom of Messiah is spoken more of than any other topic in the Word even Salvation.

This Kingdom is inside of us now that Yeshua is in us, but it shall be outside of us too, or a billion prophecies will not be fulfilled.  On average every 20th verse in the scripture deals with the 2nd coming.

Scoffers, Sleepers, Errors and Watchers    These are the four men that the Bible describes in view of the second coming of Messiah.  They try to distract us from our task at hand.

2Pe 3:3   Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

2Pe 3:4   And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

Scoffers Scoff…

Scoffers scoff and are willingly ignorant of the scriptures (dumb on purpose.) They lack the understanding of Gods first judgment and appointed times so they do not heed His coming judgment at the appointed time.

1 Thess  5:1  But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 

1 Thess  5:2  For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 

1 Thess  5:3  For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

Thess  5:4  But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

1 Thess  5:5  Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

1 Thess  5:6   Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

Sleepers Sleep…

Just as Peter fell prey to his flesh and slept instead of praying for the hour, so too do those fall to the lust of their flesh being distracted by the cares of this world. Peter denied Messiah when the fiery trial of his faith came, so too, these are in danger of denial of him when the hour of temptation comes upon the whole world to try those who dwell upon the earth. “If you deny Him, He will deny you.”

2 Timothy 2:15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. 

2 Timothy 2:17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hy-me-naé-us and Phi-lé-tus; 

2 Timothy 2:18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

Errors Err…

Somehow the sin of these men have brought them to believe that the resurrection has already past. They didn’t get this from the scripture, but just like most error they had to start outside the scriptures and bring this view into them. Their error is obvious to all because all they produce is bad fruit. The leaders of this group are trying to build the kingdom, yet all they do is scoff and cause division with those who believe the Lord is still coming and they rarely take the time to share the Gospel,they stain out a gnat in others beliefs while swallowing a camel in their own. Their beliefs bring them to the point of even persecuting Jewish people (those people who were given the oracles of God and who’s faith we have been grafted into) but this is expected, error always leads to more error.

Mark 13:34   For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.

Mark 13:35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:

Mark 13:36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

Mark 13:37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

Watchers Watch…

They look for his coming and are excited to see him, they will not be ashamed at his coming neither shall they be overtaken as a thief…

If we are foolish for watching then so be it. These fools shall never change, neither lose heart. If you need  to scoff, then scoff.  If you need to sleep ,then sleep. If you need to build the Kingdom, then build it. But causing division, envy and strife is not of God and for this I say “The Lord rebuke you” repent and produce good fruit instead of this evil and if they shall not repent ”mark them which cause division and avoid them.”

Know the race set before you and run. To all watchers I say run,blow the trumpet for the time is nearer than when we first believed.

Rev 22:11  He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

Rev 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Rev 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
